Jun elephants from Tsavo

Tsavo is the largest national park in equatorial Kenya. It is in the territory of 20.812 km2. Railway from Mombasa to Nairobi, it divided the greater part of eastern and western lower.

Tsavo West (9,065 km2) is accessible for tourists and well-equipped infrastructure. U napajedel is possible to observe a large number of birds and mammals. Southern region is well accessible and has the most scenery.In Tsavo East elephants are red (iron red mud covering their bodies serves as a protection against sun and insects). Even thirty years ago was famous Tsavo elephant quantities. In the early seventies of last century they have lived about 20,000 pieces. It was possible to observe sedmisethlava herd. Stocks elephant, however, significantly zdecimovali Poachers. In 1978, there remain only 8,000 pieces. After establishing the trade organization of Kenya Wildlife Service in 1989, their decline was halted and the population of these magnificent animals is rising especially in the south of Tsavo East. In the northern part of the guardians of the park, however, still face a poacher and traders in ivory.
