Belgian shepherd tervueren

All dogs pastevecti continental Europe are closely related and have some significant common features. In the USA tervueren recognized as a separate breed.

In some other countries, however, considered it, together with the other Belgian sheepdog, as a single breed. His name is City Tervueren, which is the center of the field, where most present. Like others of his relatives was a long ovcackym dog, but now it's more social breed. It's a dog alert, bold, lively, alert, well trained and hardworking. Currently applies to police services, looking for drugs and serves as a guard dog or guide dog for the blind.

However, it took until the end of the 19th century,when Professor Reul let these dogs in the study, until then simply known as Chin de Berger, was different than the local breeds recognized as a separate, bred in the Belgian shepherd, which is now kept in four varietach (each of which acts independently and autonomously also assesses the exhibitions). History

Ovcaci, like the Belgian ovcakum, the existence in Europe as early as 1650. They were medium-sized dogs, resilient and adaptive rough conditions, little food, anxious worker. Their task was to move the herds and the protection of Justice. Males are characterized by a sharp snout, spicatyma ears and short hair in the face.Their color and hair are changeable.

Similarly, dogs occurred on the territory of Belgium, but nobody talked about them as the Belgian ovcacich. They were not even considered the breed. To do this the state brought some order, passionate lovers of dogs are brought together and had to convince Professor A. Reul of the Veterinary School in Cureghemu, which can be regarded as a true pioneer and founder of this breed. Breed is officially formed in 1891 through 1897. On 29 September 1891 Club was founded in Brussels and the Belgian shepherd in the same year (15 November) was organized by Professor A. Reul Cureghemu at the 117th meeting dogs, which helped in writing to cover the basic state, and was made of the best individuals. Professor Tam Reul set breed characters: three variations of hair - longwoolled, hrubosrsta,kratkosrsta and the color black, taupe, brown or annealed tmavezlutych badges as well as off-white kalnu; ear upright, the height at the withers 55 cm. Match the stated features 40 dogs, who were identified as suitable for further breeding, among them were seven black, dlouhosrstych. Professor Reul also recommended link between dogs of the same type of hair, regardless of their color. In the following years, began the actual selection, which used to breed only a few individuals.
