Exotic anemia?


The main cause of transmission is contaminated plasma, contaminated instruments (needle injection), blood sucking insects (horsefly thistly and other insects). Among other causes, which are isolated, are in direct contact,mainly between the mare and foal (abrasions, secretions), and in places with higher concentrations fragile and susceptible animals, such as in the veterinary hospital. The disease usually manifests malaise, floating temperature (to over 40 C), pulse is increased to over 80/min, possible are swelling in the chest and abdomen, uncertain gait, and mild bleeding from nozder.Infekcni anemia horses are among the dangerous disease, whose occurrence must be reported to the Commission and Member States.

These facts and the possible risk of introducing infectious anemia of horses in the Czech Republic Czech Republic JRC has informed all regional veterinary service and on-site to know about it as well as horse breeders.
