Czech sports pony

In past issues we dealt with fairly traditional breeds from around the world. Each of you will certainly at least know something about Icelanders, fellskem pony or Lipizzaners, some may already have had the opportunity to see these and other representatives of exotic breeds with their own eyes.

But there are still breeds, which people still do not know much. This can be for several reasons, either it is a relatively young breed, or, conversely, old and forgotten, or its abundance is very small and closely tied to a specific region. So let's look together at one of the newest breeds of our country - Czech sports pony.

The origin and history

Breeders' care was, for many years focused only on large horses and ponies were neglected. Ponyove are doing, especially for the younger age group, very important: the child will be initially difficult to trust a creature that is three times greater than it itself, so much better when you can start with a pony. In the Czech Republic for a long time lacked the effort to create the ideal pony - one thatto be a friend of a child, teach him basic skills for the care of horses and basic riding skills. However, the breakthrough came in 2001 when the Sports Pony Breeders Association has filed for stud book for Czech sport pony breed that was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture. The creation of the CSP was also able to use a lot of quality mares with excellent sporting results, but without proven origin. This breed also become affordable for the target age group.
This breed originated as an analogy, a similar utilization of horses in the surrounding countries (the German riding pony, a small sport horse Slovak) on the basis of horsemen crossing a small frame (Arabian horse, thoroughbred English) with a Welsh pony type.CSP joints therefore good pony characteristics (resistance, modest ...) and the desirable characteristics of other breeds of horses which take part in this race, and transfer speed, agility and endurance.
On the question of the direction of breeding this breed you will find answers to the website of the Association of Unions horse breeders in the CR (www.aschk.cz): The breeding is a versatile pony riding type with a hard constitution, krmitelnosti a good, long-lived, lightweight and resistant to outside influences. Constitution and health status must provide annual economic farming in loose housing with enclosure. Emphasis is placed on good character, prudence, high intelligence, manageability and willingness to work.

Description and Specifications

Withers height reaches of this horse at least 111 cm,but must not exceed 148 cm (149 cm with horseshoes). They allowed all kinds of colors and insignia. Since this is a sport horse, must also conform to the physical structure of each individual. Proper sports pony is symmetrical, well muscled, with dry joints and shorter rectangular.
The head should be dry, with a large, lively eyes, wide nostrils and small ears. The neck is sufficiently long, well set, muscular and arched stallions. It is typical for this pony wide and deep chest, moderately strong and hard cock back and shoulders. Desirable, of course, regular stance, hocks should be well bent and the hooves regularly with high-quality, hard-horn. There may be some rough-foots.

Nature

Do not know what your experience, but the ponies,with whom I have ever met me, they were mostly small such marauders. Then - in the best sense: they are Good People, but I will not miss any opportunity to implement some shenanigans. Sure this feature in itself is also our Czech sports pony.
