Dwarf

Dwarf one of the smallest rodents, which like the ringer mysce: head with small ears and eyes like beads, woolly hair, symmetrical, round little body with short legs, but has, unlike the mouse (usually) short tail. To do this, the friendly and curious nature and minimum entitlements to care ... Not surprisingly, his magic failed breeders around the world.

Mutation and creation

Different species of dwarf hamsters have their supporters and opponents, as well as their various colors and coat types. Original dwarf only had their wild color (agouti), today is a much richer color gamut - especially among Campbell's dwarf hamster. Some colors may mutate, others were created by deliberate crossing. Mutations created by random, spontaneous genetic material of cells change: for example, is responsible for the shape and reducing the number of pigment cells. A typical example is albinism mutant cells - and depending on where they occur. The white color may be because in some cases also useful: it lets albino in northern areas to escape from predators, because visually blend with the snow, and not only survive, but also produce offspring.Part of them will inherit the same transformed cells, so that over time a majority population of the same, albeit altered species gradually change their appearance.
If you are born an albino, however, into an environment which does not coincide with others, usually do not survive to adulthood, let alone on mutant genes spread.
Dwarf kept in homes do not have natural enemies, so farmers can simply selection in breeding to maintain the desired color, which also applies to hair types.
Creations, sometimes the combination is unlike a freak of nature freak of a man: when a new color created by deliberate crosses of dwarf hamsters with different hair colors, some of which may be mutations. For example, using the combination of Campbell's hamster agouti yellow and black, which are both mutationshamster may be born with hair the color of dove gray - which is however already creations.

Genetics is the science

The same rules apply not only color but also for the type of fur, nature, body shape ... Genetic information is derived from pups from the father and mother, and some properties are inherited as dominant, others recessive. For example, the dominant agouti color, which means that even after crossing such a blue agouti, which is recessive, the litter of pups born only agouti. However, carry a factor for blue, and if in the future crosses pups from this first generation can be born blue agouti pups.
For each color there is a genetic pattern (expressed in points) from which one can read, what color a particular color is composed.In the case mentioned in Campbell's dwarf hamster color dove gray color has a genetic pattern of AAPP, where AA is the black and yellow agouti pp. Capital letters indicate dominance, so maybe the Chinese hamster mottled color pattern expressed in the form of DS (dominant spot).

If you cross two coats of satin hamster, we have 100% chance to be born again, satin pups.
When you cross satin hamster in hamster normal, birth to 100% of dwarf hamsters with normal hair. The reason? Satin hair is inherited recessively. But bear cubs satin allele (gene form).
If you cross the offspring with normal hair, but satin carrying alleleswe get probably 25% of dwarf hamsters with normal hair without satin allele, 50% dwarf hamsters, satin allele and the remaining 25% satin dwarf hamsters.
Recognize that hamster carries both alleles (satin and normal, heterozygous) and which has two identical alleles (homozygous) is impossible for domestic animals, and the result will therefore always a bit of a lottery ticket.
