Achatina Achatina large oblovka
Appearance
Shell of this snail is stockier than the other species of the genus Achatina. Can grow to respectable size (15-20 cm), but in some cases it can also measure about 30 cm. This is true for all subspecies. An adult is characterized by 7 to 8 threads on shell. The basic color is dark yellow boxes, rather yellow-orange (for subspecies Achatina monochromata) or orange with dark stripes that resemble a tiger coat color pattern - hence the name, snail tiger (tiger worm). Apex - the end of the shell is slightly reddish and some species of bright red. Collumela - obusti is pink and the cut end, as is the case with other species of this genus - eg Achatina fulica.
The muscular foot is not like other types of smoothbut it is tougher with a typical latticed. Is mostly beige or gray, may be albino, but this unique coloring is very rare and less frequent. A characteristic feature is prominent" V, which is located at the end of muscular legs, is unique for this species and other representatives of the genus Achatina does not occur.
Reproduction
Oblovka large sexually mature at about the age of 2 years of life. It is a hermaphrodite (obojetnik) with direct development.
